About Us

The Strap Line was established by our founder, Dan Verghese, to share his passion for quality watches and accessories with as many people as possible.

Dan was bitten by the horological bug when he was gifted a Tag Heuer Aquaracer Calibre 5, his first Swiss timepiece. This led him on a journey of discovery into mechanical watches, and he became an avid collector.

Adding to the Aquaracer, he soon grew a small but regularly rotating collection of Swiss watches, including several Christopher Wards, a watch company based in Dan’s hometown of Maidenhead, Berkshire. In 2014, he was lucky enough to acquire his ‘grail’, an Omega Speedmaster Professional ‘Moonwatch’, marrying his love for the history of space exploration with his watch-collecting hobby.

He later took things a step further by trying his hand at watch modding, taking a Seiko SKX007 as a base and swapping out various components. Since beginning his collection, Dan has owned a variety of watches by brands including Seiko, Orient, Vostok, Steinhart, and Laco.

Alongside his evolving watch collection, Dan would regularly swap his straps, experimenting with different materials and styles. He realised that pairing a watch with the right strap can make or break one’s enjoyment of the timepiece and that a premium watch should not rely on a cheap or badly-made strap to keep it secure.

And so, The Strap Line was born, to bring watch lovers worldwide a selection of carefully curated, premium-quality straps for all occasions. We hope you find what you’re looking for!
